Setting up a Wiki page was easier than I thought. I really liked how it prompted you during the initial tour, showing you exactly where to go. I am a very visual person and this really left little room for guess work. I also found the flexibility of allowing others to modify interesting. I think I would like that, but would like to be able to approve content before it was posted. I liked that they gave you several options. I honestly had limited knowledge about wikis and this forced me to become familiar, see he benefit, and how easy it could be to use. link to my wiki

I was a little nervous about creating a digital story as I have never thought I was the best story teller. I created a simple story that my Kindergarteners could relate to and actually found putting it together fun. I could see where even my young Kindergarteners could make their own story with assistance or it could maybe even be done as a class project. I have little trouble navigating on the littlebirdtales.com site. I think I may even have my 8 and 11 year old create their own stories as well!
I found the following clip fun to make. Again, I'm not always the most creative when it comes to creating stories, but you are given so many options on this site. I was actually surprised that so many options were free. I thought the possibilities were endless on this site and could lend itself well to any subject area. You really didn't have to go searching for options to download, but there was definitely that flexibility. I thought this was an easy to navigate site and would be beneficial for a variety of ages.

I thought the glogster site was a great tool for teachers. I don't know if I just tried to access the website at a bad time, but I have a lot of difficulty getting it to load correctly. I literally spent hours waiting for it to cooperate. I also had some trouble with the features, especially text. I would save something how I wanted it and then it would not look the same in the final version. I'm sure it may have just been operator error, but I really had a hard time with it. Again, I thought it was a great tool for teachers to have a lot of information/resources all on one page. I also like that you can look at other people's work. This would allow you to work smarter, not harder!!
ReplyDeleteI thought Google docs was a great tool. Again, I like the idea that I would not lose this information and I could access it from anywhere. I also thought it was very clever how you could collaborate and see what the other person was doing in real time. I love tools that are efficient and save me time!
